If your kids love Cirque de Soleil, get ready for the next high-energy, all-human, international circus coming back to NJ this weekend. Circus Vazquez will bring its unique climate-controlled tent to Paramus October 11-28.
For the 2024 Tour – which is in its 55th year – the international cast of talent includes Boris Nikishkin, from Russia, will make his American debut as a clown, comedian and acrobat. Hailing from Guinea, Africa, the Bone Breakers quartet presents body-bending flexibility. Columbia’s Duo Vanegas, Ricardo and Alejandro, are daredevils who defy gravity on the Wheel of Wonder, a rotating device reaching over 30 feet in height. Featuring Olympian Natalia Kapitonova, the Liazeed Angels are a troupe of athletes who bring high-quality gymnastics to the circus ring. Duo Marruffo from Brazil are known for its handbalancing and strength. From Kiev, Ukraine, Bingo Troupe brings dance to acrobatics.
Fourth-generation Vazquez family members also step into the spotlight. Jose Alberto Vazquez is a juggling virtuoso with over two decades of experience. Siblings Jan and Carolina Vazquez also juggle, plus they balance on the rolla bolla, a traditional circus apparatus.
The Circus Vazquez Band provides the soundtrack for each act.
And after the show, you’re invited to meet some of the circus stars.
Showtimes are 7 pm Mondays – Fridays; and 1 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm Saturdays and Sundays, at the Westfield Garden State Plaza, Paramus. Tickets range from $30-$80, with select discount days.
