If you love ramen, kimchi and roasted seaweed, chances are you’ve shopped at a local H Mart. The popular Korean grocery chain is also well known for its uber-fresh produce and seafood, too.
Now H Mart is trying something new with the opening of a food hall that will serve up Asian fast-casual fare at American Dream in East Rutherford. The new food hall is set to open this spring and will have 11 Asian fast-casual dining options.
Here is the lineup:
K-Town Hero: Offering bulgogi beef brisket, fried chicken, and gochujang pork and more by Michelin-star Chef Hooni Kim (owner of Danji in NYC)
The Bao: Specializing in dim sum, noodles and soup dumplings
Sang’s Tofu & Grill: Featuring traditional Korean food from the founder of Midori Sushi, Food Avenue and Sang’s Kitchen
Gold Miss: Come for donuts, hot dogs, ice cream, frozen yogurt and slush drinks.
Gong Cha: Serving tea, bubble tea and special coffees
BBQ Chicken: Come for fried chicken with tons of flavored sauces.
Jeong’s Noodle: Noodle, seafood and chicken dishes will be on the menu.
Wok Bar: Customize your own meal here.
Tous les Jours: A bakery serving up cakes, pastries, sandwiches and handcrafted beverages
Don Don Curry: The menu includes Japanese Curry, Takoyaki, Tempura and Karaage.
Let Them Talk: Offering daily happy hours and Korean drinks, draft beers and craft cocktails
H Mart is the largest international supermarket chain in America. Fun fact: H Mart is short for “Han Ah Reum,” which means “One Arm Full of Groceries” in Korean. The Asian grocery chain opened its first location in 1982 in Woodside, Queens, NY, and has since grown to more than 100 stores across the 18 states. The chain has 9 locations in NJ, including the upcoming food hall at American Dream that opens on August 30.
