If you love golf, you can watch historic matches right here in New Jersey this spring while volunteering.
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), in partnership with NJ-based Valley Bank, is searching for volunteers for the 2023 Cognizant Founders Cup next month through the Valley Bank Volunteer Program. Sign up to assist with all aspects of tournament operations, in both on-course and behind-the-scenes capacities for the week-long event. By purchasing the volunteer package, you’ll get a uniform, meals and access to serve as the conduit between the players, spectators, event operations and media covering the tournament while providing tournament services.
The LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments on the LPGA calendar and takes place May 10-14 at Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton. If you decide to attend as a spectator, Wednesday is Pro-Am day, with tournament rounds taking place Thursday through Sunday. A full lineup of interactive events, including complimentary lessons from LPGA and PGA professionals, will take place throughout the week and over Mother’s Day Weekend.
The package for new volunteers is $85. You will receive a polo shirt, jacket, headwear, lanyard with credentials, meals for each shift, six any-day grounds tickets and an invitation to the volunteer appreciation party. If you’re a returning volunteer, the cost is $65, but you must wear your 2022 polo, outwear piece and hat. This year you will receive a new lanyard with credentials, meals for each shift worked, six any-day grounds tickets, and an invitation to the volunteer appreciation party.
If you want to watch from the sidelines, packages are available for individual days or as weeklong packages. General admission tickets, providing access to the tournament grounds any day Wednesday through Sunday, are $45, with a weekly 5-day pass available for $125. Hospitality packages begin at $100 per day, which includes access to on-course hospitality, a parking pass, continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, water, coffee, soft drinks, beer and wine. Juniors 17 and under receive free general admission. Active and retired military can show their ID at the gate which gives them access to a free grounds pass on that given day.
On Wednesday, all spectators receive free admission to watch the Pro-Am courtesy of New Jersey Golf Foundation,
