The Garden State’s craft beer scene is foaming over with more than 100 breweries to choose from! Here are a few of our favorites, especially during fall, and some handcrafted beverages to sample and savor. Break out the pumpkin ales and hard apple ciders!
The Alementary Brewing Company

This craft brewery features a biergarten and a taproom with eight taps pouring a selection of beers. Don’t miss their award-winning Hackensack Lager.
Brix City
4 Alsan Way, Little Ferry
Brix is Bergen County’s first full production craft brewery. Don’t leave without trying Ciao Bella, their take on an Italian-style pilsner.
Cape May Brewing Company
1250 Hornet Rd., Rio Grande
Cape May Brewing Company serves its brews in an expansive tasting room. There are over 20 beverages on tap including beyond beer brews and handcrafted homemade sodas. Take a self-guided tour and visit the outdoor Brewtanical Garden.
Eclipse Brewing Co.
25 E. Park Ave., Merchantville
Owner and brewer Chris Mattern wants you to feel like you’re in his living room drinking his homebrew. He loves to experiment with local fruits and flavors, and creates a variety of small batch beer styles on tap.
Kane Brewing Company
1750 Bloomsbury Ave., Ocean Twp.
Go for a tasting of their American- and Belgian-style beers. You can take a self-guided tour on the weekends and kids are allowed under adult supervision.
Lone Eagle Brewing
44 Stangl Rd., Flemington
This Hunterdon County favorite has a variety of beer styles on tap, from sours to IPAs. Sit outside with a beer flight on a perfect sunny day.
Magnify Brewing Company
1275 Bloomfield Ave., Fairfield
This craft brewery focuses on hop-forward brews. Their Imperial Science Event is a dry hopped Imperial IPA with amplified tropical flavors and no bitterness.
Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company
909 Ray Ave., Croydon, PA
This craft brewery, beer garden and taproom offers everything from hefeweizens to stouts. Don’t miss their award-winning Warehouse Lager. You’ll also find them in the Ferry Market in New Hope and at The Station in Dublin, PA.
Readington Brewery & Hop Farm
937 US-202 South, Readington
This brewery offers traditional and adventurous brews in its tasting room, open seven days a week. Located on a 25-acre farm brewery, their “field to glass” approach to brewing makes them a standout. Try the Hop Bomber, a double IPA that doesn’t disappoint.
Twin Elephant Brewing Company
13 Watchung Ave., Chatham
This spot offers handcrafted ales and lagers brewed with locally sourced ingredients when available. Try the Baron Von Slamminhausen, brewed “to please the Hansel and Gretel in each and all of you.”
