Classroom Crafts to Celebrate the Chinese New Year. This year, Chinese New Year begins on February 1st. Here are some fun and easy ways you can bring some auspicious Chinese New Year fun into your classroom.

We love this colorful dragon chain—all you need is construction paper. Add dozens of loops and have him decorate your mantel like garland, or let the kids use it to put on their  own personal Chinese New Year parade. Make it your own by adding feathers, glitter or a creative design!

There’s nothing that kids love more than toys that make noise. Just grab some paper plates and beads or uncooked beans. Put the beads in between the plates and seal them together. Then tie some beads on strings to bang while you twirl. Decorate and play away.
