Big comedy news! Conan O’Brien will join Stephen Colbert on stage at NJPAC in a fundraiser in support of Montclair Film and tickets go on sale this week!
O’Brien is best known as the host of “Late Night.” He then became the host of his own show, “Conan,” before creating the “Conan Without Borders” series, the podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend,” and completing a successful comedy tour.
He has hosted two Emmy Awards shows, performed at the White House Correspondents Dinner, and hosted this year’s 97th Academy Awards (with plans to host next year’s, too).
His travel series, “Conan O’Brien Must Go,” is now on HBO MAX.
Colbert is known for “The Colbert Report on Comedy Central,” following his seven years as a correspondent on “The Daily Show”; and his 10 years as host of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
He previously served as executive producer on Comedy Central’s “Tooning Out The News,” “Hell of a Week” with Charlamagne tha God, as well as SHOWTIME’s “Our Cartoon President,” and Derek DelGaudio’s “In & Of Itself,” streaming on Hulu.
Colbert has authored six books, the most recent of which, Does This Taste Funny?, is co-authored by his wife Evie McGee Colbert. Originally from South Carolina, the family now lives in Montclair.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Montclair Film, a non-profit arts organization that hosts the annual Montclair Film Festival (which takes place October 17-26), owns and operates The Clairidge cinema house, operates the non-profit cinema The Bellevue, and provides year-round film education, storytelling, and community programs throughout New Jersey.
An Evening With Conan O’Brien, hosted by Stephen Colbert, is set for 7 pm December 7 at NJPAC in Newark. Tickets are available online for Montclair Film and NJPAC members beginning Wednesday, October 15, at 10 am. Tickets go on sale for the general public at 10 am Friday, October 17. Visit www.njpac.org or ticketmaster.com; call 1-888-GO-NJPAC (1-888-466-5722); or visit the NJPAC Box Office at 1 Center St., Newark.
