Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Lauren H. Redler provides operative and non-operative treatment of sports injuries in children, adolescents and adults, specializing in pediatric trauma, shoulder, elbow and knee injuries. A lifelong athlete, Dr. Redler was inspired by her own athletic career playing lacrosse and watching her father, an orthopedic surgeon, help patients overcome sports injuries.
“I love the immediate gratification of returning an athlete to their sport, similar to what was done for me,” says the mother of an 8-month-old.Dr. Redler completed her fellowship training in pediatric sports medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. She uses advanced, minimally-invasive arthroscopic surgical techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
“Pediatric patients aren’t just little adults, so their injuries require specialized treatment that respects the fact that they’re still growing,” she says. “I draw pictures for my patients to explain their injury because I want kids to understand what their X-rays or MRI show and fully understand their treatment plan.”
