What inspired you to start your business?
When the insurance defense firm I worked for didn’t allow me to open a family department, I went out on my own.
What was your proudest moment as a business owner?
When I was first working in family law and I was able to get one of my best friends the help he needed. His wife took their two-month-old daughter, left NJ, moved to Oregon and refused to come back. The child is now 21 and he was the residential parent from the time she was two months old.
What is your firm best known for?
We pride ourselves on being reasonable and fair and not being afraid of trials and litigation.
How has your firm evolved since you started it?
We now have six lawyers and we’re growing. We have a written decision in same-sex adoption.
How do you juggle work and family demands?
There has to be a break from work so that time can be spent with the family.
What’s next for you and your firm?
I am now a parenting coordinator in addition to offering mediations, collaborative law, divorce, DCP&P and domestic violence litigation.
How is your firm involved in the local community?
We are members of the Italian Tribune, AM Roundtable Networking Group in Caldwell and support local businesses.
What else would you like NJ families to know about you?
I am a child of divorce and a divorced person and also a divorce lawyer for the past 23 years.
