If you’ve tried to score tickets to The Polar Express, New Jersey’s most popular Christmastime train ride, and missed the boat, don’t wait! Tickets go on sale this June 1 at midnight.

The Polar Express in Phillipsburg, which recreates the popular holiday movie by taking kids in their PJs on a magical journey to the North Pole, has already released tickets for this year’s train rides. It may be early to think about sipping hot cocoa, but you’ll be happy you did it when the kids get up close and personal with Santa.

This year, due to COVID-19, the trip will only be selling 50 percent of its typical capacity to increase social distancing. The ride will operate according to CDC best practices. If requirements are relaxed, they may offer more tickets and if trips cannot operate due to government shutdown, trips will be refundable.

Trips run November 27-29 and December 4-6, 11-13 and 18-20. Friday trips are at 6 and 8 pm, Saturday trips are at 2, 4, 6 and 8 pm and Sunday trips are at 2, 4 and 6 pm.

Adults are $42, kids ages 2-12 are $32 and lap sitters (up to and not including 2 years) are $5 each.
