Ethan Slater, the star of SpongeBob SquarePants, The Broadway Musical, calls the role "the dream [he] never knew [he] had." It's only been out since late 2017, though the Nickelodeon show has been a fave for kids and grown-ups alike for years, including Slater. Not only does he have fond memories of watching the show on TV in middle school, but college, as well. Slater describes the stage production as funny for all ages, and says it features original music by icons like John Legend, Aerosmith, Cyndi Lauper and more.
Steve Adubato sits down with Slater to discuss his career, auditioning for SpongeBob and his Broadway debut.
