Move over Santa and Bunny Trains, Whippany Railway is adding a new twist.

Whippany Railway Museum is beloved for its holiday train excursions, but there’s an even sweeter reason to hit the tracks now. In honor of National Ice Cream Month, Whippany is launching its first ever Ice Cream Train Rides.

On July 7, you and the kids can hop a 45-minute, 10-mile ride and take in the views before snagging a free scoop at the Snack Depot in Whippany. The trains are part of a one-of-a-kind collection of vintage cabooses from old-school NJ railway lines. If you want to splurge, upgrade your ride to the Jersey Coast Club Car, a train car from the late twenties complete with classic amenities of the time.

Trains leave at the top of every hour from 1-4 pm. The station is located at 1 Railroad Plaza in Whippany at the intersection of Rte. 10 W and Whippany Rd. Tickets are $16-19 for adults and $11-14 for kids ages 2 and up (that includes your ice cream fare and museum admission). Order online now or visit whippanyrailwaymuseum.net for more information.
