Touch-a-Truck Events in New Jersey

Climb aboard a fire truck, bomb van, excavator, helicopter and more

THE ASHLEY LAUREN FOUNDATION / Charlotte Joy Touch-a-Truck Festival

There’s something exciting about the kids seeing a gigantic truck or construction vehicle – and then being able to climb on it. These touch-a-truck events across New Jersey give kids the opportunity to see police cars, firetrucks, excavators, dump trucks and even helicopters and military jeeps up close.

November 6-9

Touch-a-Truck
Liberty Science Center, Jersey City
Explore a fire engine, a fire trailer, a bucket truck, construction vehicles, a tow truck, a hot air balloon, a law enforcement boat, an ambulance, the Ghostbusters car, and a vintage DeLorean. Inside LSC, paint your own wooden truck, visit the temporary tattoo stations, and check out all the usual exhibits. Head outside for food trucks, an inflated monster-truck slide and music.

November 8

Touch-a-Truck Day
Deer Path Park, Flemington
Dump trucks, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, military Jeeps and other vehicles will be parked in one place so kids can get a close-up look. Start the morning with “Hold the Horn” from 11 am to 12 pm, which is a special hour of quiet—no horns, flashing lights, or sirens for kids with sensory sensitivities.

Downtown for the Holidays
Downtown Ridgewood
Celebrate the season with a Christmas tree lighting, touch-a-truck, a trackless train, Santa in his golf cart, live music by the Ridgewood High School band and dancers in shop windows.
