5 Things We’re Loving This Week – December 7, 2020

Five of our favorite things to make your week just a little bit easier and more pleasurable!

If the thought of the holidays (or whatever version of the holidays you’ll be doing this year) has you anxious, I have a few suggestions that will keep you calm and feeling upbeat. With so much to do, and so much uncertainty, it’s easy for parents to put themselves and their needs on the backburner. Try picking one thing you’ll do just for you each day, whether it’s taking time for exercise or a hot bath at night. You’ll end up in a nicer mood and ready to take on whatever the week throws at you!

Fabric Wrapped Ayurvedic Soaps – From the women-owned business Modern Joy, these beautiful, eco-friendly bars of soap are available in pretty scents including jasmine, rose sandalwood and mixed fruit. Each bar come wrapped in naturally dyed, block printed fabric which makes it look great as a gift (or to keep for yourself!)  $10. at abroadmodern.com

Sweatproof Jewelry – I’ve recently decided to branch out from my usual stud earrings and I’m loving the look of big hoops! These heart-shaped ones from OXB are made to be worn during a workout – they’re sweat-proof and hypoallergenic which means the metal won’t fade or rub off. Not to mention they’re also lightweight and extremely stylish! $54. At oxb-studio.com

Mask Chains – I was resisting getting one of these for a while and now I don’t know why I waited so long! These mask chains are actually pretty, and they make taking off your mask so much more convenient. I went for the cut-out stars chain and no regrets. Plus, when you purchase, you’ll be supporting a business started by a group of NY/NJ moms – very cool indeed. $20 at @a.jeweled.life on Instagram

Silk + Sonder Wellness Journal for Kids – This 3-month gift set features journals for kids ages 6-12. There are fun, interactive activities like optical illusions, coloring pages and recipes. For me it’s a sneaky way to get my kids to practice handwriting. (They also make pretty self-care journals for adults, too!) $45 for 3-month gift set at silkandsonder.com

All Over Fruits Shower Curtain – Now that we’re all spending more time at home, sprucing up your surroundings is a great idea. Just changing out your shower curtain can give the bathroom a whole new look. I’m thinking of getting this cheerful fruit one (it comes in peaches or papayas) for my kids’ bathroom, but it would also work great for adults. $39. Urbanoutfitters.com
