Boy enjoying a smoothieWith the weather getting warmer, it's the perfect season for making smoothies. Kids love them, and when you follow the smoothie recipes below, they can be pretty healthy, too. And while smoothie recipes can be complicated, I've kept all of the suggestions to six ingredients or less.

Start the day by serving your kids smoothies for breakfast, or serve as an easy afternoon snack. They're also a hit as a snack for class parties—be prepared to make serveral batches!

Blend Up these Favorites

Breakfast Smoothies:

Granola Smoothie: In Jennie's Kitchen shares a recipe for a healthy breakfast smoothie with granola and strawberries.

Orange Soy Milk Frappes: A healthy version of the beloved Creamsicle, and a big hit with kids.

Pina Colada Smoothie: Paula Deen's combination of pineapple, banana, and unsweetened coconut milk makes for a tropical delight.

Tropical Strawberry-Peach Smoothie. Emily Allene | Food has a quick, easy, and healthy recipe for a breakfast smoothie packed with summery fruits to help you wake up with a boost of energy.

Anytime Smoothies:

Vietnamese Avocado Smoothie: A personal favorite, this smoothie can often be a hit-or-miss with kids, but it's delicious. Viet World Kitchen shares the basic recipe, as well as some variations.

Berry Blast with Spinach: This mom's recipe hides the spinach, and she says her kids don't even notice the secret ingredient. She also shares recipes for a Tropical Green Machine (gluten-free) and an Orange Dream, which is made with carrots and OJ.

Pink Banana Smoothie: This smoothie from Family Fun is made with tofu, but has enough sweetness and fruit to make it popular with even tofu-adverse tots.

Smoothies for a Party:

Rainbow Smoothies: Make this assortment of six smoothies in all the colors of the rainbow. Let kids choose what color they'd like to drink.

Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie: 52 Kitchen Adventures has a creamy, healthy-ish (Greek yogurt!) and very-good-for-a-party smoothie.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie: Sterling Style shares how to make a decadent chocolate peanut butter smoothie that's not that bad for you.

Watermelon Sherbert Smoothie: Taste of Home has a fun recipe for a watermelon smoothie that even looks like a watermelon—it's top with mini chocolate chips for the "seeds."
