When is more more than enough?
In the book More by I. C. Springman, a magpie, given a marble by a mouse friend, discovers a joy in collecting things. First a lego brick, then a coin, some keys, and soon nothing turns into plenty, which in short order turns into much too much. The few words (43 to be exact) in the book More relay so much. And, Brian Lies's illustrations bring another level of emotion and movement to tell this charming and powerful story of friendship and conversation.
More by I. C. Springman, illustrated by Brian Lies (Houghton Mifflin Books for Children, 2012); ages 4-8; $16.99.
