We Got a Preview of Candytopia in NYC and It’s Bigger and Better Than Before

The interactive experience boasts tons of fun and Insta worthy photo ops

CANDYTOPIA

From iconic works of art and sculptures made of candy to colorful, whimsical backdrops for photo ops to a cushy marshmallow pit you can dive into, the all-new Candytopia in New York City is loaded with walk-through experiences you and the kids will love.

CANDYTOPIA

The new space is 24,000 square feet (the largest to date) and has 17 interactive environments, all of which offer a taste of your favorite candy (hello Blow Pops and Airheads). Visitors will walk through an elaborate entrance where doors slide open to a room filled with intricate candy sculptures.

Your host will ask you to guess how many candies were used to make a gigantic dragon, a fox and more (hint: think tens of thousands). Then you’ll guess which one of the jumbo clocks on the ceiling will drop down with loads of candy (which you’ll also get to try).

A New York-inspired candy art gallery features the Mona Lisa, Frank Sinatra, Willy Wonka, Billy Joel, Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” and more. A detailed and elaborate candy sculpture of the Sphinx is one of many with incredible details throughout the experience.

The kids will love the gigantic ball pit room boasting two huge Candytopia balls and a serene backdrop of the sky. Across the way, you’ll find a multi-colored whimsical room that’s a must for photos. Sign up for the Sugar Rush app and you can capture pictures of this and other rooms using a QR code. The photos are taken from the ceiling so you can capture angles unlike any you’d get on your own. This is especially fun in the marshmallow pit where you can immerse yourself in a sea of the cushy white stuff. You’ll want to cover your ears when the marshmallow cannon shoots out tons more. (Hint: Time this moment so you can capture an overhead photo using the Sugar Rush app).

Other highlights we love include a psychedelic room with colorful LED lights and more candy works of art including NYC’s iconic LOVE sculpture and a jumbo Gummy bear.

You’ll also see a video of candy being projected on the walls for a truly immersive experience. An aquarium-like room (minus the water) boasts tons of sea life made of candy.

One of our favorite rooms features confetti popping out as you enter and walk through. Make sure to have confetti blown on you and your crew as you grab pics and take in fun sites like a candy unicorn (yes, it’s that magical). The experience ends with a zip line and mosh pit just below it. This is slated to debut when Candytopia officially opens to the public on Friday. The end of the zip line brings you to a shop filled with Candytopia merch and, of course, a gigantic wall of candy you can purchase.
