Try Red White & Que in Scotch Plains

If you have a hankering for some home-cooked, southern BBQ and live in the Union County area you’re in luck. Red White & Que Smokehouse (yes, the other one is in Kearny) is opening a new location around the corner from Bowcraft Amusement Park. Lauded as having the best BBQ in NJ by Thrillest last September, meat-lovers can chow down on brisket sandwiches and get messy thanks to a whole lot BBQ sauce made in-house.

 

March 1–29

Women in the World Art Exhibit at the Newark Museum

Spend a Saturday afternoon with the girls checking out amazing art that illustrates the power of females. Learn how women have triumphed over social, economic and educational barriers and have resurfaced as stronger and more resourceful than ever. FYI: this exhibit is running in conjunction with the Women in Media's 8th Annual Women's History Month Film Festival, so check their site for showtimes.

 

March 3–4

Stage House Tavern Grand Opening

One of Scotch Plains’ top eateries is adding another eatery to its arsenal in Mountainside. Head over for the grand opening and celebrate by sipping on beer or wine and munching on bar bites like mussels, bean dip and tuna tartare. And don’t miss the live music! The Dr. Jameson Band are playing on Friday night and The Benjamins take the stage on Saturday.

 

March 5–10

Fill up at Atlantic City Restaurant Week

Break up your time spent in the casinos with few top-notch meals during at the county’s restaurant week. Take a stroll down the boardwalk and hit spots like Fornelletto and Il Verdi or stray away from the sands and hit your favorite spot in Galloway, Mays Landing, Egg Harbor

Burlesque Show at Miss Wong’s in Jersey City

Head to this speakeasy (located right underneath Talde) for a super sultry show featuring tons of dance and sparkle! Sip on signature cocktails in the Asian-inspired space and enjoy a night of glamour and adults-only fun.

Taste of New Jersey’s Annual Benefit Gala

Register for this yearly event to taste the best of what the Garden State has to offer. Tasting and Tapas Auction and Tasting Event

Taste several kinds of international wine and craft beers all while raising money for the Diabetes Foundation. Couples will also get to munch on bites from local vendors and take part in both a silent and live auction throughout the evening.

Johnny Cash Tribute Band at the House of Independents
