February 1–February 3

Take Advantage of Hudson Restaurant Week

There are a few days left to get a dinner deal at a popular spot in and around Hudson County. So if you’re in the mood for some delicious eats (and much-needed QT?), check out a recently-opened restaurant like City Perch Kitchen in Fort Lee, Halifax and The Havana Cafe in Hoboken or The Hutton and South House in Jersey City, all for under $40 per person. Or stick with a favorite in Weehawken. FYI: Reservations sell out quickly so call ASAP. If you can’t get in for dinner, most spots have lunch deals, too.

Go to a NJ Devils Game

Hockey’s one of those sports that’s played all. of. the. time. Head to the Pru in Newark and watch NJ’s only professional hockey team fight for a spot in the playoffs. Added bonus: There’s tons of local craft beer and chicken wing options to chow down on during the game.

See Seth Meyers at the Morristown Performing Arts Center

If you have a hubby who’s hooked on the Seth Meyers show (or old SNL episodes, for that matter), you’re in luck. The late-night host is swinging by Morristown for a night of stand-up. No better way to beat the winter doldrums than with a few laughs, right?

Design and Dine at Just Bead Yourself

Get a group of your closest friends together and let your creative side run free in a class that teaches you to make your own gemstone bracelets using stones that balance out your own personal energy. Solve a Murder Mystery Over Dinner at Four Sisters Winery

Take the Twilight Tour at the Stickley Museum

Take a romantic stroll through Gustav Stickley’s old-timey log cabin that’s filled with beautiful copper lanterns while diving into the history of the Stickley family and the development of electricity. Stick around for refreshments after the tour. Advance registration is required.

Liberty Science Center After Dark: The Foo Fighters

Silent parties have become all the rage, so now’s your chance to cut the rug while blasting the Foo Fighters from your headphones. There will also be food, cocktails and an awesome laser show to groove to. And don’t forget to wear your brightest clothes so you stand out in the blacklights.

 

February 19

Take in Some Music at the Zimmerli Art Museum

Head to Rutgers in New Brunswick to get your fill of art and live music—we’re talking string quartets—all for free. Start by taking a peek at the Russian art exhibit on the first floor before heading to the Guerilla Girls display, which uses humor and math to represent female activism. There are also plenty of classic paintings and sculpture to check out, plus, an exhibit dedicated to French printmaking.  

 

February 19

See Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at the Newton Theatre

Brave the Jersey cold and get your dancing shoes on without having to drive all the way down the Parkway. This bluesy bluegrass band is heading to Sussex County for a performance at the Newton Theatre. Before you hit the show, stop by the Krave Cafe + Caterer for a bite.

Stop by a History Happy Hour at the Liberty Hall Museum

Have a drink with friends at Liberty Hall Museum while learning some fun history facts. The Kean family traveled around the world and back again in the 1800s. Your job is to figure out where with your friends in tow and drink in hand.
