Holland Ridge Farms

Holland Ridge Farms is famous for its gorgeous landscape filled with colorful Dutch tulips. Last year, the farm offered a drive-through experience but now the U-Pick Tulip extravaganza is back, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. If you’re looking for fun spring things to do in NJ, this should definitely be on your list!

If you’ve never been, Holland Ridge touts itself as a worthy alternative to visiting Holland. With acres of gorgeous tulips in every color, they aren’t far off. You’ll want to spend a while here, cutting flowers and gathering them into bunches to take home, and of course, taking tons of photos with these beautiful tulips as the backdrop.

This year, U-Pick Tulips will open around April 9, so keep an eye on their website and/or social media for exact dates and ticket reservations. The tulip picking season lasts about two weeks, depending on the weather. This year, there will be timeslots that must be reserved in advance: 9 am-12 pm, 12-3 pm and 3-6 pm, in order to control the number of visitors and keep things COVID safe. There will be new interactive photo opportunities, says the farm, but they’re keeping those on the down-low so you’ll be surprised when you attend. On weekends kids can enjoy a small petting zoo and pony rides.

Holland Ridge Farms is taking COVID precautions seriously – all staff members and guests over the age of 2 are required to wear masks. While in the fields, masks must be worn when 6 feet of social distancing cannot be maintained. Daily farm capacity will be controlled and tickets must be purchased online in advance. There will be increased cleaning and sanitization of common areas and signage to remind guests about masks and social distancing. Those who do not follow the rules will be asked to leave the farm with no refunds given.
