Childhood cancer is the number one killer of today's kids. Andrea Verdone Gorsegner, founder of Infinite Love for Kids Fighting Cancer, knows this statistic well. In 2012, her three-year-old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. The shock remains vivid to every parent who has to endure the struggle, no matter how much time passes. Gorsegner's journey with her little girl inspired her to start a Facebook support group for her daughter, which eventually turned into her org that's raised over $600K for research thus far.
Joanna Gagis sits down with Gorsegner to discuss her personal experience starting the org, the disparity between research for adult cancers and pediatric and more.
