It’s hard to believe September is already here, but it’s time to celebrate Labor Day weekend with some fun events that will bring the whole fam together. From street fairs to fireworks, there’s something for everyone.

ALL WEEKEND
The Mendham Pastime Club Annual Labor Day Carnival
Mendham Borough Park, Mendham
Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6-10 pm
The Club’s annual Labor Day carnival is a large-scale event, featuring rides, games and food. The carnival runs from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. On Labor Day, the Mendham Labor Day Parade marches up Main Street ending at Borough Field. The carnival is open from mid-morning through 9:15 p.m., at which point the mayor will draw the winning ticket for the 50/50 raffle and the fireworks show begins.
Boonton Fire Department Carnival
Boonton High School, Boonton
Thursday – Sunday various times
Enjoy rides, games, live music, food and fireworks on Sunday at 10 pm. The Boonton Fire Department Labor Day parade will be held Saturday at 1 pm on Main Street.
Labor Day Weekend at the Museum
Museum of the American Revolution, Philadelphia, PA
Saturday, Sunday & Monday 10 am – 5 pm
Over Labor Day weekend, join the Museum for the closing weekend of our Flags and Founding Documents, 1776-Today summer exhibit, the final weekend of the True Colours Flag Project display, family-friendly crafts and activities, and more. Children 12 years old and younger will receive free Museum admission throughout the holiday weekend (available for in-Museum purchase only).

Come join our crew of young naturalists as we explore the woods looking for creatures of every shape and size. We’ll identify and record our findings with the iNaturalist and Seek apps, where they can add to the sanctuary’s knowledge of local flora and fauna. Each month will have different focus – from birds and their food sources to frogs and salamanders.

Martin Pizzarelli Quintet Tribute to Bucky

Bassist Martin Pizzarelli put together a special program of hand-picked tunes that pays tribute to his father, guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli. A member of New Jersey’s first jazz family, Martin’s own impressive career as a bass player spans several decades and includes dozens of record dates and hundreds of concerts around the globe in various formations, often accompanying his father.

Please join us for our 2nd Annual Paws & Soles Labor of Love Virtual 5k hosted by Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. Between Sept. 6, 2021 (Labor Day) and Nov. 25, 2021 (Thanksgiving), we challenge our community – near and far – to walk or run a 5K with us while raising our goal of $25,000. Sounds like a lot but we know with your help, we can do it! Don’t forget to bring your favorite pup(s) with you! All event proceeds directly benefit the animals of the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter.
