SUMMER OF LOVE 60s MUSIC FESTIVAL

Summer is winding down, but make sure to squeeze in some more fun this weekend at one of these great events.

Summer of Love 60s Music Festival
Haddon Ave., Haddon Township
Saturday, 2-10 pm
There’ll be full lineup of bands playing all day at this free street festival. While you are catching some tunes, sample fare from the beer garden and food trucks and let the kids play in the bubble bus and dance dome.

Wine Down Summer at Riverwinds
Riverwinds Community Center, West Deptford
Saturday & Sunday, 12-5pm
Enjoy wine and food at this end of summer food festival. Spectators and those under 21 can enjoy shopping the local artisans and crafters, snack on some amazing food, enjoy the live music, or tackle the bounce houses for free. Those over 21+ who want to enjoy many of the local wines will be able to get a ticket that includes a souvenir wine glass and samples for $15/advance or $20 at the gate.

Misfits Market
Avalon Beach, Avalon
Saturday, 11 am – 4 pm
The online fruit and veggie seller is on a pop-up mobile tour, and making a stop at Avalon Beach. Snag some free organic snacks and swag and take some cool selfies at this free event.

Denise Whalen Crab Race
Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach, Seaside Heights
Saturday, 4 pm
Artificial plastic crabs will be released from Patriot’s Plunge into the Revolutionary River at Breakwater beach at this benefit Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. You can participate by buying a crab for $5 (sales stop at noon on race day), or just watch as the crabs float and “race” to the finish line. The winning crab gets a $100 cash prize and 10 all-day passes to Breakwater Beach for the 2022 season.

Summerfest at Ort Farms
Saturday and Sunday, 10 am – 6 pm
Ort Farms, Long Valley
Summerfest is packed with music and food trucks, but also features a host of fun farm activities, like the sunflower trail, pony rides and horse drawn carriage rides. There are even apple cannons for some extra excitement. Advance purchase is recommended.

New York Renaissance Faire

All weekend, 10 am – 7 pm
Just over the border into New York, is the massive New York Renaissance Faire. This big event kicked off last weekend and will run into October. With everything from archery to jousts to dances around the maypole, this big celebration will really make you feel like you’ve stepped way back in time.

Somerville Summer Stage 2021
Division Street, Somerville
Saturday, 6-9 pm
Bring your own chairs and enjoy some live music in downtown Somerville. The weekly concerts are every Saturday night, and this weekend you’ll hear the sounds of Venture to Zen.

Potato Harvest at Historic Longstreet Farm
Historic Longstreet Farm, Holmdel
Saturday, 12-2 pm
It’s time to harvest the potato crop! Learn how they were grown and harvested at the end of the 19th century, and help the staff bring in the crop. While there you can also see the historical building and animals and learn more about 1890s living.

Kids and Critters Animal Show
Cape May State Park, Cape May
Saturday, 11 am
For only $1 per person, the kids can watch this live animal show featuring snakes and turtles.

CAMPYS/ST. SEBASTIAN FESTIVAL

St. Sebastian Festival and Carnival
Thursday/Friday, 5-10 pm, Saturday& Sunday, 3-10 pm
Kaveney Field, Montclair
Your favorite carnival rides, fried and delicious treats will be on hand at this fun festival in the heart of Montclair.

Hunterdon County 4H & Agricultural Fair
Friday/Saturday, 10 am – 10 pm, Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm
County Fairgrounds, Lambertville
This big agricultural fair will show off some of the local prize animals, as well as entries in the art, photography and creative fields. Plus, there are rides, music and more all weekend long.

August Craft and Antique Show Rancocas Woods
Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm
118 Creed Rd., Mt. Laurel
This monthly market will feature and eclectic mix of local handmade, vintage and antique goods. Plus, food trucks, live music and more.
