Do you have a mini-quarterback at home? If so, Time Square’s NFL Experience should be on your list of must-see attractions. The action-packed interactive venue has tons of exhibits that let fans become their favorite NFL players for the day.
You and the kiddos can begin your journey by testing your knowledge of your favorite teams in more than 20 trivia touch screen stations. Then, your crew can visit the 4-D theater to watch Gameday, a compilation of exclusive footage of players from the beginning of the season to the NFL Conference Championship.
The most immersive part of the experience may be the journey you go on as a player on his way to the Super Bowl. It starts with the entrance to the locker room for a pep talk from a coach. Next, you’ll go to the training facility where the kids can try their hand at interactive challenges like a vertical leap test and see how they compare with the pros. You can even see yourself through a screen that replaces your body with a football player in your favorite team’s uniform.
After suiting up, discuss moves and game plans with your coach and toss a football to your favorite receiver. The ball tracks your speed and accuracy.
No matter your skills, all guests emerge as champions. Finish your trip by experiencing a Super Bowl celebration surrounded by photos and memorabilia from years past, and take a picture with the legendary Vince Lombardi trophy.
You can buy tickets online ($27 for standard time-ticketed admission, $34 for a FlexPass that allows you to visit anytime). Hours are 10 am-10 pm Sunday-Thursday and 10 am-midnight Friday-Saturday in December. The NFL Experience is located at 20 Times Square on 7th Ave at the corner of 47th St. in NYC.
