This past Tuesday, November 4, Firefly Fisher of the Harlem Globetrotters visited Pleasantdale Elementary in West Orange, NJ to present “The ABCs of Bullying Prevention,” program which targets elementary aged children. The Globetrotters designed the program in coordination with the National Campaign to Stop Violence (NCSV). The program focuses on Action, Bravery, and Compassion, comprising the ABCs.
Firefly engaged the children asking them questions about the ABC's—“COMPASSION means caring about others and your community. Raise your hand if you care about your family and friends"…which was received with tons of hands up in the air.
The Globetrotters will bring “The ABCs of Bullying Prevention” to nearly 400 schools and youth centers as part of their 2015 World Tour, celebrating the team’s 89th consecutive year.
You can catch the Harlem Globetrotters at the IZOD Center on December 29th and the Prudential Center on December 30th.
