If you’re thinking of sending your teen to a New Jersey college or university, WalletHub just released its Best Colleges & Universities Rankings report for 2022 to help college-bound seniors make their decisions.

WalletHub compared more than 1,000 higher education institutions in the U.S. based on 30 key measures grouped into seven categories, such as Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes. The data set ranges from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary.

Here are the top 10 colleges and universities in NJ according to the study:

  1. Princeton University
  2. Stevens Institute of Technology
  3. Rutgers University-New Brunswick
  4. The College of New Jersey
  5. New Jersey Institute of Technology
  6. Rutgers University- Newark
  7. Rutgers University- Camden
  8. Ramapo College of New Jersey
  9. Stockton University
  10. Seton Hall University

The study also ranked the Best Colleges & Universities Overall which encompasses all of the U.S., and NJ was in the spotlight with Princeton University taking the #2 spot. Stevens Institute of Technology was #79 on the list. Rutgers University-New Brunswick ranked #95 and College of New Jersey came in at #120.

WalletHub also ranked colleges, known for being smaller institutions, and universities which often offer a wider variety of academic and social options, separately.
