Discover how maple syrup is made at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center in Chatham Township. Participants will identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and see syrup being made over a wood-fired evaporator, as well as get a chance to taste the fresh syrup.  Demos take place on select Saturdays and Sundays in February and March from 2 to 3 pm. Admission is $3 per person. Chatham’s annual Maple Sugar Festival is celebrated at the peak of the maple-sugaring season on Saturday, March 2, from noon to 4 pm; admission is $4 per person.
