Planning to get out and vote tomorrow but don't have someone to watch your kids while you go to your local polling site?
“Election Day is arguably one of the most important days in the U.S. this year—the ultimate opportunity for Americans to make their voices heard through the democratic process,” said Kevin Washington, President and CEO, YMCA of the USA. “Unfortunately, many people who want to vote find it challenging because they have to take children with them. The Y’s hope is that Zoe’s Kids Day Out initiative enables those parents and caregivers to exercise their right to vote, and ensures children can spend their time in a safe, nurturing environment.”
Drop your kids off at select YMCAs offering childcare for voters. The participating YMCAs are listed below. Be sure to call for hours and details:
Five Points Branch, 201 Tucker Ave., Union,
Elizabeth Branch, 135 Madison Ave., Elizabeth
Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving St., Rahway
YMCA of Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 1340 Martine Ave., Scotch Plains
YMCA of Gloucester County, 235 E. Red Bank Ave., Woodbury
Pre-registration is required at The Gateway Family YMCA locations. Times change, so make sure you check your local Y’s website before you go.
