Moms everywhere were nodding their heads in recognition at the “Christmas Morning” sketch on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend. In the hilarious sketch, host Kristen Wiig plays a mom woken up early by her kids (played by Kyle Mooney and Chloe Fineman), who proceed to unwrap a series of amazing gifts. Even dad (Beck Bennett) is gifted with some amazing stuff including a watch, new shades and an outdoor pizza oven but mom is given…a bathrobe.

In a musical number that was all too relatable, everyone but mom gets showered with presents on Christmas morning. (Can anyone here relate?)

“Thanks for the robe, it’s really, really nice. I love this robe, guys, this is great,” Wiig raps, trying to convince herself that this is, in fact, a good gift.

As the kids and dad continue to open up more and more presents, mom retreats to the kitchen to make breakfast, soon discovering that the price tag is still on her new bathrobe and that it was on sale for 40 percent off.

Moms took to social media to express their thoughts on the sketch.

“I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry because it’s so damn relatable,” wrote one viewer on Instagram.

“Was so awesome my son said halfway through, ‘i love you mommy.’ Then later he said, ‘so do you want anything special for Christmas?’ lol,” posted another mom.

“This is a documentary,” wrote another mom. Truth.

As the sketch continues, we see Wiig as mom holding a towel to her arm which she burnt on the stove making breakfast. “It hurt pretty bad, but I didn’t even scream because I keep the pain inside of me,” she says.

By the end of the sketch, even the family dog has been given more gifts than mom (including a doggy robe!).

A voice over by Kenan Thompson reminds us, “Your mom does everything for your family. This year get her more than one present. Moms like stuff too.”

Here’s to the moms on Christmas this year – and may you get more than a sale bathrobe!
