A new report from All Home Connections shows the most popular Halloween costumes for 2022 in each state, and the pick for NJ may surprise you! This year, it seems that people are going old school as the top searches in the country were for witch and cat, with a combined 22 states searching for them the most.
But pop culture is inspiring kids’ costumes, too. Eleven states’ top searches were for characters from new Disney classics “Encanto” and “Lightyear.” So which costume are NJ kids looking for the most?
Turns out the Garden State’s top pick is vampire! In fact, it was the most searched costume in five other states. Check out the infographic below to see what other states are searching for.

We love the fact that classic costumes never go out of style. The tried-and-true cat costume is the most googled for Halloween in 12 states. Eleven states searched for witch costumes the most. With the release of “Hocus Pocus 2” it’s no wonder their popularity has soared.
