You’re off to great places so plan your next road trip and get on your way! The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss exhibition at The Springfield Museums in Springfield, MA, Dr. Seuss’s birthplace, is finally open after a long wait. The 3,200-square-foot museum features two floors of Seuss-themed memorabilia, hands-on activities and stories honoring Theodor Seuss Geisel.

As for the museum itself, the exhibit is chock-full of things to do. There are plenty of interactive activities for kids to explore, including a bilingual exhibition of stories, vocabulary and literacy games and story creation. Be sure to check out the recreation of Geisel’s studio and other historic displays, such as one on the making of Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden (also on the premises). The museum aims to be an educational resource that will inspire a love of reading in visitors of all ages.

The second floor of the museum will have tons of memorabilia that belonged to Dr. Seuss, including original paintings, furniture, hats and accessories and even his drawing board. You can also learn about Seuss' childhood at Young Ted in Springfield, an exhibit on his childhood and the city's influence on his career. Visit Readingville to get a taste of what it would be like in the world of some of the author's most famous books.

The museum is located at 21 Edwards St. in Springfield, MA. Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 am-5 pm and Sunday 11 am-5 pm. Tickets are $13 for kids three and up, and $16.50 for students and seniors and free for kids under 3. Get access to all five museums for $25.
