Got a kid who’s obsessed with Rory McIlroy? Then she’ll be pumped that Topgolf, an epic indoor golfing facility complete with driving ranges and microchipped balls that score themselves, is opening its first location in New Jersey in December.  The massive facility is expected to attract golf enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels as well as newbies to the sport.

“We’re proud to become part of the Edison community. Edison is a vibrant, fast-growing area that has been nationally recognized as a best place to live,” says Topgolf Edison Director of Operations Justin Norvell. “It also offers a strategic central location, which will help us attract visitors from Staten Island, Princeton, Newark, New Brunswick and more.”

This will be the 31st Topgolf location in the country. There will be plenty to do at this gigantic golf center. The facility will have tons of golf simulator options that focus on a player’s accuracy, distance, drive and short game. You can also opt to take private lessons from a pro or join a group session. They’ll have a full food and drink menu, complete with bar service. There will also be music, hundreds of flat-screen TVs and space for birthday parties and events.

Hourly rates to golf in a climate-controlled hitting bay range from $30-$50 an hour (depending on the time of day) for up to 6 players. There’s also a one-time $5 charge for a member playing card. The 65,000-square-foot venue, located at 1013 Rte. 1 in Edison, is planning to hire 500 people. The facility is set to open on Dec. 23.
