Whether you are new to the dating scene, a single parent or recently divorced, there’s good news for you if you’re living in New Jersey: NJ is the seventh best state in the U.S. for singles. Especially with Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s a great time to hit the town with your wingmen (or women) and swim through all the fish in the sea!

The personal-finance website WalletHub released its report on 2023’s Best & Worst States for Singles. To help unattached Americans improve their chances of finding love, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 30 key indicators of dating friendliness. The data set ranges from the share of single adults to online dating opportunities to restaurants per capita.

The study marks No. 1 as the best and No. 25 as average. NJ is ninth for online dating opportunities, and fifth for mobile dating ops.

There are great spots for dates in NJ, since it’s No. 7 for restaurants per capita and 20th for movie theaters per capita.

Other things that will appeal to singles include our state ranking fourth in median annual household income (adjusted for cost of living), fourth for lowest crime rate and ninth for the percentage of residents 12+ who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

If Cupid hasn’t struck you with his arrow yet this year, don’t despair! Grab your girls for a Galentine’s Day event, head to a bar to watch the Super Bowl or check out one of the new sports and entertainment venues (like Supercharged, Adventure Crossing or RPM Raceway) – you’ll never know who you meet and if love awaits!
