National Margarita Day is almost here! This famous cocktail, made from a mix of tequila, triple sec and lime juice, come frozen, flavored with fruit puree, spicy, blue and beyond. Call the sitter and sip one of your faves somewhere on Saturday, February 22.

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar

Indulge in $5 Perfect Margaritas on the 22nd only. This cocktail’s a mix of 1800 Reposado tequila, Cointreau, Grand Marnier and lime juice.

Bahama Breeze

National Margarita Day is an annual celebration at this island-inspired resto. Head there to sip $2.22 Classic Margaritas, or try the new Blue Curaçao, Dragon Fruit or Coconut-Pineapple variations for full price.

Blue Moon Mexican Café
Englewood, Woodcliff Lake, Wyckoff

This place is known for drinks, Mexican-inspired fare and Sunday brunch. There’ll be a fiesta with giveaways going on all day (Englewood and Wyckoff), plus a delicious $6 house margarita special.

Chili’s Grill & Bar

This fajita-famous chain is slinging $5 Hearts on Fire ‘Ritas all February long. The cocktail packs a punch with doses of Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Fireball Cinnamon Whisky and Lunazul Blanco Tequila, plus sour mix and grenadine.


Mixologists will be shaking up two cocktails especially for the holiday. Try the Summer is on the Horizon, a frozen drink made with Mala Vida Tequila, Cointreau, lime and orange juices and house simple syrup. Or, splurge on the Kingfisher Margarita, the same drink but made with Patron Barrel Select Halifax Tequila, a reposado-style spirit hand-selected just for the restaurant aged in Hungarian oak.

Calling all budding mixologists! Learn to make an A1 margarita at Margaritaville University at 4 pm before The Great Margarita Toast at 5 pm. Sip on $3.99 Traditional Margaritas for the rest of the night and munch on $5.99 fried pickles.

On The Border

Through February 22, you can take on the $5 1800 Grande ‘Rita. This one’s made with 1800 Reposado tequila, Grand Marnier, triple sec and a fresh citrus mix.

Quaker Steak & Lube
Brick, Edison, Pohatcong

If you’re looking for an unbeatable deal, this chain has you covered. It doesn’t get cheaper than a $2 well Lube-a-Rita, made with Sauza Blue agave tequila, triple sec and citrus margarita mix. Flavors include strawberry, mango, wild berry and raspberry.

Tio Juan’s Margaritas Mexican Restaurant
Toms River, Wayne and Woodbridge

All three NJ locations will be slinging $6 flavored margaritas and $5 Hornitos tequila shots. Flavors include strawberry, mango, Lime in the Coconut, Mad Melon, pomegranate, raspberry, ginger, Blue Moon, açai and peach.

Can’t make it out for National Margarita Day? No worries; these spots have food and drink specials worth checking out all year round.

Barrio Costero

Every weekday but Wednesday from 4-7 pm (plus Saturday and Sunday from noon-5 pm), this spot is slinging $6 margaritas and sangria, $5 drafts and house wine, $3 Pacifico and Negra Modelo. Thursdays are the best bang for your buck, though; the specials last all night!

Escondido Mexican Cuisine and Tequila Bar
Head here any Thursday for $3 house margaritas. Go during happy hour (3-6 pm M-F, 9 pm-close on weekends) for discounted apps like coconut shrimp, guacamole or chicken flautas, plus a ton of beer specials. Go on Saturday for late night trivia.

Johnny Tequila’s
Hit up Taco Tuesday for $2 empanadas and $2.50 tacos (not to mention $4 Dos XX and $5 sangria). Go Thursday for Partyoke, over the weekend for live DJs and drink specials or Sunday for all-night happy hour, including $6.50 margaritas. Break out one of the board games available for play while you eat and drink.

La Fortaleza
This spot’s walls, tables, bar and chairs are covered in signs, paintings, sugar skulls and more, giving the vibe a fun, kitschy touch. Margs here come in clay jarritos instead of regular glasses. There’s also live entertainment every night of the week, karaoke on Saturdays and happy hour on weekdays from 2-6 pm.

Happy hour here lasts all night long on Thirsty Thursday. Best part? Órale has a huge tequila selection (from silver to anejo to reposado), plus a variety of mezcals. Go on Tuesday for half-off tacos (cash only).

Pancho’s Burritos

Happy hour at Pancho’s is a daily fiesta at this popular spot. That means epic deals on margaritas (frozen or rocks, flavored or classic) on the 22nd and beyond. Call the sitter so you have the night to tackle the Super Bulldog, a massive margarita with a sangria floater and two Coronitas. Go on Tuesdays for $2 tacos.

Rosa Mexicano
This Riverside Square staple has Hora Feliz from 4-7 pm Monday through Friday. Snag $9 cocktails (think frozen margaritas with mango and organic agave) or $7 sangria and wine. If you’re a tequila buff, ask for a menu of the extensive selection.
