ANDRY FAMILIA

This fan favorite light show on New York’s Randall’s Island is open now and will be a completely new experience this year with all new themes, displays, and safety protocols. Last year we visited, and this bright cheerful light show is more than just another Christmas light show (though there is an awesome tree), it is a fantastical wonderland with wild creatures real and fantasy like, the adorable host Lumi who takes you on a magical journey.

Even the founder of LuminoCity, Xiaoyi Chen, feels that this year will be one to remember, “We are bringing an entirely new event theme, narrative, and experience to NYC this year. We want to create a brief and wondrous escape from reality, and look forward to presenting a safe, well-produced, and heartwarming event for everyone who wants to come get lost among the lights.”

LUMINOCITY

This year’s festival is packed full of installations and displays that span thousands of years of human history. The main park will follow an enchanting original story. This year’s host, Lumi, will guide you through their fantastical world. The sparkling light park invites visitors on a 30-45 minute walking journey through distinctly themed sets and dreamlike worlds. At the center of the adventure is Lumi, a magical light bulb and the host of the festival.

We loved the “Pop Culture” section and are happy to see it return. This wacky display combines your favorite furry influencers with the zodiac constellations that make appearances in Lumi’s story.

Before you leave, snap a pic in front of the Christmas tree or grab food from one of the awesome food trucks.

The LuminoCity team has worked closely with city and public health officials to prioritize the health and safety of guests while planning the 2020 festival. Safety measures include timed-entry tickets, mandatory mask wearing by staff and visitors, maintained physical distancing, temperature checks, and sanitizer throughout the park to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.
