This fan favorite light show has made its home on New York’s Randall’s Island since its start in 2019, but it is now moving to a large and spacious display on Long Island. The lantern festival theme for 2021 is ‘Shine Again’, and will take place in Whitney Pond Park in Manhasset, NY from November 12 – January 9.

This bright festival is filled with inventive creations, cute characters and beautiful colors that light up the night. More than just twinkly holiday lights, these displays are inspired by the traditional art of Chinese lantern festivals, feature animals, dinosaurs, castles and more.

“We are excited to announce the details for our third annual LuminoCity Festival, which we are thrilled to host in two new locations this year,” said Xiaoyi Chen, CEO of LuminoCity, which also has a location in Virginia. “As one of the only expansive holiday experiences to safely open in 2020, it was an honor for us to bring some hope and joy to many individuals and families last year. For 2021, we hope to inspire even more with our theme, ‘Shine Again,’ and create an unforgettable and joyous holiday event that everyone can share with their loved ones.”

The immersive outdoor walk-thru event will feature Lumi, the LuminoCity mascot, as your guide around the experience. With timed-entry tickets you’ll have time to get a close look at all these handmade sculptures. New this year is Lumi’s Utopia, which features the artwork from six young artists that competed this summer. Their 2D designs will be brought to life as 3D light sculptures.

Also new this year is Lumi’s Friends, which features some of your favorite canine and feline social media stars in lantern form. Through the unique partnership with these furry friends—including @smoothiethecat & @turboroo—festival goers will get to enjoy the artistic sculptures that capture each of the personalities of their favorite social media pets brought to life through light and color.

An admission ticket is required for each visitor ages 3 and up. Children must be attended by a parent or guardian.

Lumi’s VIP Fast Pass tickets are $76, and allow entry through the fast pass entrance for VIP ticket holders and their entire party so you can avoid the lines at general admissions.
