From the highly-rated Netflix hit docuseries “Drive to Survive” to the growing fan base for Florida native Formula 1 driver Logan Sargeant, Grand Prix racing is surging in popularity in the U.S.
If you’re a fan of watching the fastest racing cars on the planet drive through some of the world’s most spectacular cities at speeds of 180 to 200 miles per hour, Global Travel Collection (GTC) has a bucket list luxury trip you should know about.
Imagine an eight-day cruise aboard a luxury yacht exploring the coast of France and Italy combined with a trip to see Formula One racing at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The cruise, aboard Atlas Ocean Voyages’ newest yacht, World Traveller, sets sail from Nice, in the French Riviera, on May 20, then will head to Antibes and Saint-Tropez before crossing the Mediterranean to Italy. Ports of call in Italy include the historic city of Livorno, a gateway to Florence and Pisa, and the charming fishing villages of Portovenere and Portofino.
On race day, May 26, the World Traveller will dock in Menton, France, about 20 minutes from Monaco, before returning to Nice the next day to end the cruise. The Grand Prix experience includes a transfer from the yacht to Monaco, a gourmet lunch with drinks, a Q&A session with a former Formula One driver, a car simulator, a nail bar, a chair massage and a live band.
Like we said, this is a bucket list luxury trip (with a price tag starting at $8,500 for a cabin aboard the luxury yacht for eight days) for the most serious of F1 fans looking for a once-in-a-lifetime way to travel to race day.
The fact that it takes travelers to the Monaco Grand Prix is fitting since the race, first held in 1929, is one of the world’s most prestigious auto races. It’s also one of the most challenging courses, taking drivers along narrow streets and tight corners in the heart of Monte Carlo.
The experience will give travelers a unique vantage point for watching the race, Monaco’s Princess Grace Dance Academy, which is transformed each year into a VIP Grand Prix venue for spectators with stunning views of the race circuit.
The World Traveller is known for its gourmet cuisine and super personalized service. For more information on booking a luxury trip, head to globaltravelcollection.com.
