We’re still loving the free daily doodles with Mo Willems, but if the kids are looking for something a little different to draw during their COVID-19  quarantine, they can try their hands at Captain Underpants. Dav Pilkey, the author and illustrator of the beloved series, has teamed up with Scholastic and the Library of Congress to offer up some weekly lessons in how to draw the goofy superhero.

Every Friday you can join him for Dav Pilkey at Home, where he’ll be showing you how to draw Captain Underpants, Dog Man and their friends. He’ll also be doing readings and offering activities. New installments are released Friday mornings at 8 am, and there are printable coloring pages and interactive “assignments” that the kids will be psyched to draw. The episodes will be available on the Scholastic and Library of Congress sites and social media.

Pilkey joins other children’s book authors who are reading to kids during this challenging time.

Audible is offering free, on-demand storytime with Audible Stories, available to everyone, including those without a subscription. These include classic tales like Winnie-the-Pooh and Beatrix Potter, plus stories in six different languages.

Have your kids done any of the Mo Willems or Dav Pilkey drawings? We’d love to see them! Email us at editor@njfamily.com
