Shu the Komodo Dragon at the Turtle Back ZooShu the Komodo Dragon (shown in photo) made his debut today (May 3, 2012) at Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, NJ.

The Komodo Dragon is the largest member of the lizard family (and Turtle Back Zoo is the only zoo with a Komodo Dragon on exhibit in the tri-state area). Currently 4-1/2 feet long, visitors can expect Shu to grow approximately a foot a year—up to 10 feet long—which happens to be the size of the Komodo Dragon statue at the zoo's entrance.

To see Shu in person, visit The Reptile House at Turtle Back Zoo, 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ.
