Warm water, cool teachers, happy kids! At Njswim, we provide year-round, quality swim lessons for Water Babies, children of all ages and adults in our indoor facilities with heated pools. Our Water Babies program begins with our youngest group of children from 3-15 months old and a second group from 16-30 months. We offer a FREE class for Water Babies under 6 months as an introduction to Njswim.

Since 2001, the great success of our program and our passion to teach water safety has fueled our growth and expansion to five great New Jersey locations in Florham Park, Warren, Manasquan, Lakeside and Sparta, NJ.  Each of our locations has experienced, certified swim teachers who have completed coursework in lifeguard training, water safety, first aid, personal fitness training, psychology, and early childhood education.

We are recognized as the leading swim school within the United States Swim School Association and New Jersey. One of our missions is to spread water safety awareness. Njswim is your partner in water safety and we are active members of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance and Safer 3 Water Safety Foundation. Joe Oehme, founder, has been appointed to the board of directors of Stop Drowning Now, a global non-profit organization with the mission to save lives through water safety education.

A cornerstone in our mission to teach water safety is the ‘learn to float’ philosophy which allows for a Zen-like approach in teaching. This relaxed teaching style helps our students develop proper body positioning and breathing techniques in the water by giving them skills and building their confidence. Our lessons are held in smaller pools unlike other facilities where you might find that swim lessons take place in a large, Olympic sized pool. By utilizing smaller pools to teach, we can ensure optimal student-to-teacher ratios in a more intimate learning environment.

Njswim is proud to teach year-round water safety skills that are designed to boost self-confidence and enhance the aquatic experience in a safe and positive environment. In most locations, we offer a rolling school year program from September through June, and Summer intensive swim programs. Before swimming starts, students are evaluated and then placed in the class optimal for their experience level, learning, and fun. These classes range from Water Babies, where your 3- 30-month-old will become acclimated to being in the water, all the way to swim team prep in which your child will learn strength, endurance, and the benefits to being on a swim team. These classes are held once a week with an hour and a half time slots.

With a strong dedication to teaching water safety, Njswim’s lessons go beyond the pool. Our team members frequently host in-school presentations at elementary and pre-schools in the communities we serve. We deliver interactive, developmentally appropriate learning presentations about safety in and around water: safer people, safer water, safer response.
