Big news for water park fans: Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the Poconos is opening its massive extension on March 8. That’s when your crew will be able to soak in 220,000 square feet of renovations and water attractions at the gigantic indoor water park, making it the largest in the country.

The African-themed resort is already famous for its super fun water slides and attractions, like the FlowRider wave generator, a retractable roof that lets the sun in during warm weather and a huge arcade.

The long-awaited expansion includes new slides like  The Screaming Hyena, an almost-vertical slide with a trapdoor plunge; Elephant’s Trunk, a tube slide full of twists and turns that spits riders out into the lazy river, and The Cheetah Race Mat Slide, which allows your little ones to race down side by side. If your kids aren’t thrill seekers, they’ll be happy to know that the lazy river and kids’ play area have also been expanded. Visit the 40,000-foot arcade before heading back to your overnight suite, the spa for some R&R or one of many on-site restaurants.

Keep an eye out for an improved swim-up bar for adults and a new virtual reality arena for the kiddos. Total win win!

Kalahari is located at 250 Kalahari Blvd., Pocono Manor, PA.
