Bronx Zoo

Boo at the Bronx Zoo is back, and this year the zoo has upped its spooky factor. On weekends September 28-November 3, come dressed to the nines in your ghoulish getups. There’s an attraction for every age so nobody in your coven will get bored.

Hold your little one’s hand as you take a walk through the Corn Maze. If your kids aren’t into the super scary stuff, this is a good spook-free activity. Watch live performances at the Wildlife Theater, this year’s being Amazing Adaptations: The Dinosaur Adventure. Animal-inspired Magic Shows will also be at the top of your kids’ to-do list. There’ll also be Mind Reading shows, where a mentalist will blow your  kids’ minds by guessing their favorite places and memories. Kids can also get up close and personal with owls, vultures, ravens and the like at a Bird Meet & Greet. Parents can enjoy seasonal fare and beers while kids play lawn games during Bootoberfest. Once your family makes it to the exit, find your way through a corn maze and try some cider and seasonal goodies.

Visit the Extinct Animal Graveyard and learn about old animal species. Don’t forget to come dressed for the Costume Parade, where the kids can show off their Halloween best. You won’t want to miss the costumed stilt walkers parading around the zoo. And what’s Halloween without some Pumpkin Carving? Expert artists will create giant animals out of pumpkins. If your kids are feeling inspired, they can let their inner artist out with Crafts, which they can take home. Something else you can take home? Candy! Head to the Candy Trail for traditional trick-or-treating, and learn about the animal’s favorite treats, too.

Tickets to Boo at the Bronx Zoo can be purchased online and are $39.95/ages 13 and up, $29.95/ages 3-12 and kids under age 2 are free.
