Is your teen an amazing singer? Do you live in Bergen County? Bergen’s Best Voice, a one-day singing competition, is looking for the best high school or college resident singer.

Performances will be judged on vocal skill, personality, appearance and overall persona. If your kid advances, they’ll get to use background music or an instrument during their moment in the spotlight. The prize? A scholarship to the secondary school or college where the winner is enrolled.

The competition will be held on January 2 at the Winter Wonderland Pavilion at Van Saun Park in Paramus. Starting at noon, contestants ages 14-23 will sing up to four different songs a cappella. Each performance will be limited to 60 seconds. Several rounds will be judged, so contestants must be available all day until 9:30 pm. Contestants must be current Bergen County residents to compete.

Judges include veteran actor and former Phantom in Broadway’s The Phantom of The Opera Ciaran Sheehan. While you wait to see if you’ve made it to the next round, you can fuel up with on-site bites and bevs from Tommy Fox’s of Bergenfield.

To compete, you must register by December 31. It’ll cost you $50 to register, and that includes admission. If you just want to watch, it’ll cost you $15 if you buy online and $20 at the door.
