A popular staple for field-trips we know and love has just gotten a major overhaul. Imagine That!!! A New Jersey Children’s Museum has been entertaining kids for two decades, and after months of serious gutting and renovation, is about to reveal its new attractions. A soft opening just last weekend allowed guests to explore the brand new museum. Additions include a new pirate ship, arts and crafts room, tech exhibits and sensory activities. Don't worry: Favorites like the fire truck and purple house still remain, but more than 3,000 square feet are now open in the form of a brand new mezzanine.
The Everbrite board is another noteworthy addition. This custom interactive light wall based on the popular Lite-Brite toy has hundreds of adjustable color dials that kids can rotate to make dazzling one-of-a-kind images. The Blue Blocks imagination playground is also a must-see. Think the wooden blocks you played with as a child, but huge, blue and soft! Kids will get to construct, build and transform the blocks into whatever they can imagine.
A grand opening is scheduled for January 13-14, but you can visit the new space any time before that. Get your tickets online ASAP to lock in your visit ($15.99/kids, $6.99/adults). Sessions are timed tickets, so you’ll have to select a visit from 10 am-12:30 pm, 12:30-3 pm or 3-5:30 pm.
Imagine That!!! is located at 4 Vreeland Rd. in Florham Park. For more information, call 973-966-8000 or visit imaginethatmuseum.com.
