Hummus Recalled Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

Sabra Dipping Co. recalls hummus nationwide

Sabra Dipping Company issued a nationwide recall on 30,000 cases of hummus, after discovering traces of Listeria monocytogenes during a routine testing at a Michigan store on March 30.

The recall is limited to five stock units of Classic Hummus. If you have Sabra products with the following codes

The recall is limited to five stock units of Classic Hummus. Consumers are encouraged to discard or return (for a refund) the following packages:

040822014687/300074 – Sabra Classic, 30 oz. – 3-059/Best before May 11

040822342049/301216 – Sabra Classic Without Garnish, 32 oz. – 3-059/Best before May 11

040822017497/301290 – Sabra Classic, 17 oz. Six Pack – 3-058/Best before May 11

The most common symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes include high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Serious symptoms include fatal infections in children, the elderly and those with weak immune systems, as well as miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

No illnesses related to the recall have been reported.
