Greenwich Village is going to get a whole lot sweeter in 2018, especially if you or your kids are Nutella fans. The iconic hazelnut cocoa spread will have its own stand-alone cafe in NYC. The 2,200-square-foot space at 116 University Pl. at E. 13th St. in NYC will be the second full cafe in the country devoted to the chain (the first opened in Chicago earlier this year).
If the Chicago locale serves as a precursor for what’s to come across the Hudson, Nutella fans can expect everything from Nutella-filled croissants, affogato with Nutella and espresso, fruit salad with yogurt and Nutella, Nutella-topped liege waffles and more.
If you’re craving the decadent spread and can’t wait for 2018 to get a taste, Nutella Bar in NYC’s Eataly (near the 23rd St. market entrance of the Flatiron location) should tide you over. There, you can get lattes infused with Nutella, crepes, gelato and pastries chock-full of the stuff (go on Tuesdays for a bombolone, an Italian sugar-coated donut bursting with Nutella). Nutella Bar is open daily from 10 am-11 pm at 200 5th Ave.
