You don’t have to go far to have a screaming good time during Spring Break. Six Flags Great Adventure announced its new Scream Break week, where you can experience a twist on Fright Fest during April.
After hours, explore two haunted houses, called The Manor and Fears. Try to dart past the monsters at The Boardwalk. Enter the scare zone and move with the ghouls. Ride your favorite rides: Superman: Ultimate Flight, The Green Lantern, Twister, Kingda Ka, the Great American Road Race, Sling Shot and Dare Devil Dive will all be open and waiting for you. If you want something more low-key, head to the Spring Break Dance Party.
Scream Break will run April 8-15 from 8-11 pm at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. The event tickets are sold separately and are $39.99 per night or $159.99 for a six-night pass; the event is free for pass holders.
Six Flags Great Adventure opens its theme park and the safari on April 1. Hurricane Harbor will open on May 20 with new slides and attractions for water lovers of all ages.
There is lots to look forward to this season. Yum Yum Café will open with a new menu and dining space, while Wicked Saloon will have new enclosed outdoor dining, patio furniture and TVs. Boardwalk Bar and Quick 6 Market will open later this year.
Great Adventure Garden will be one of the enhanced green spaces.
A much-awaited return is the safari overnight camping trips which will return monthly. Last year, during one special evening, guests met the Siberian tiger cubs who were recently born; this year, after they turn 1 in May, they will go out on exhibit in the safari.
If you’re driving through, keep an eye out for European brown bear cubs, a rare newborn bongo calf and a sable antelope calf. Later this year, there should be giraffe babies and scimitar calves born. And speaking of giraffes, Georgia will turn 31 and is likely one of the oldest giraffes under human care and a grandmother to many giraffes on property.
There will be lots of festivals this summer, too. Pride Night celebrates the LGBTQ+ community with a day of rides, fun music, special events and activities followed by an evening of dancing and entertainment; Flavors of the World is a one-day food fest featuring cuisine from a variety of cultures and countries; the July 4 party includes fireworks at night; the new Blues, Brews & BBQ brings an afternoon of live music, craft beers and BBQ treats; Viva la Fiesta will mark Cinco de Mayo; the annual Oktoberfest offers German-inspired cuisine and treats and fall themed décor; Boo Fest is Halloween for the younger crowd, including costume contests and trick-or-treating; while Fright Fest lives up to its name during weekends in the fall with haunted houses, scare zones and spooky entertainment; Veterans Weekend celebrates vets and their service to our country with special discounts and exclusive activities; and Holiday in the Park lights up the park before Christmas, including a holiday fireworks show that takes place over the lake.
The exact dates and more details will be announced soon.
