If you and your kids scream, “Santa, I know him!” every time you see someone in a red suit, or if you enjoy your spaghetti with candy canes and some maple syrup, then don your yellow tights and green suits and head to Club Wyndham Midtown 45. This NYC hotel has used some holiday magic to transform a suite into an entire Elf-themed extravaganza.
The first-ever experiential one-bedroom suite immerses guests into the world of Buddy the Elf with over-the-top decorations, his favorite toys, sweet treats and more holiday fun. When you arrive (the door is wearing an elf jacket, you can’t miss it!), you’ll be blown away by the living and dining areas loaded with garland, ribbons, popcorn and hundreds of paper snowflakes. The kids will love the massive Christmas tree decorated with gold ornaments, not to mention all the toys beneath it. Snap pics with the vibrant gift wrap wall mural covered in giant curled ribbons or in front of the Lite Brite welcome message.
If the kids get hungry, don’t stress: The kitchen is stocked with Buddy’s four essential food groups. That means you can get all the candy, candy canes, candy corn and maple syrup, plus spaghetti, marshmallows, Pop-Tarts, chocolate syrup, cookie dough, M&Ms and soda—just like in the movie. Head to the bedroom and bathroom for more decorations and bath “snowballs.” The kids can play with Buddy’s favorite toys like a LEGO Empire State Building, Etch A Sketches and a bunch of toy trains.
If you plan on leaving the room (we wouldn’t judge if you didn’t), you can take the kids to Buddy’s favorite places. You’ll get free admission for up to four people to both the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center’s ice skating rink. You’ll also be within walking distance of Grand Central Station, Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue.
The Elf-themed suite is available for reservations for up to four guests from December 2-20 and to Wyndham vacation club members only from December 21-26. Rates start at $399/night. See a 3-D tour of the suite here.
