Trains and holidays go together like turkey and gravy, and kids are often fascinated by a model railroad exhibit that features a miniature set-up with moving parts. The last weekend of November, the first two weekends of December 2017 and the first weekend of January 2018 are the Garden State Model Railway Club’s Annual Open House, in North Haledon, NJ.
This 60th Annual Model Railroad Show features bridges, tunnels and town scenes, as well as classic model steam and diesel trains, the Santa Claus Express, Thomas the Tank Engine and special trains for children. True train lovers will be delighted by NJ rail line replicas of areas such as Middletown and Norristown. For more information and the schedule, visit gsmrrclub.org; link to the Annual Open House.
The show will operate on Black Friday, November 24 from 1-5 pm. On normal Saturday and Sunday afternoons the show will operate from 1-5 pm. Tickets are $6/adult and children under 12 are free with a paying adult.
