Over the next few weeks, there are lots of festivals, fairs, and farm fun days taking place. (And don't forget, many farms are now open for pick-your-own strawberries, a great activity for the whole family to enjoy!)
Alstede Farms has spring family fun every Saturday and Sunday from 12-4 pm, weather permitting. Attractions include hayrides, pony rides, train rides, a moon bounce, and much more. Children can get an all-day activity pass for $12.95 or purchase by activity (prices here). On Saturday, May 19 they're holding Farm Camp from 10 am-4 pm for ages 4-12, $89.99 per child, includes lunch and all activities. And, the Strawberry Harvest Festival takes place the weekends of June 2-3 and June 9-10 with lots of fun for all, including homemade strawberry treats like shortcake and ice cream.
Wrightman's Farm is holding an Early Spring Fun Car Day on Sunday, May 20 from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, described as "A Classic, Antique and Fun Car Expedition." Participants welcome, even last minute, and prizes will be awarded for cars with the most votes.
Fosterfield's Living Historical Farm is hosting a "Be Our Guest" day on Sunday, May 20, with free admission to the farm as well as free shuttle service to other participating area attractions. Other special spring days at the farm include the Children's Gardening Program: Watering and Composting on June 16 and Victorian Day on June 30.
Saturday, May 26 is a perfect day to visit Howell Living History Farm. They'll have free horse-drawn hayrides from 10 am to 4 pm. There will also be lunch and refreshments for sale in the Visitor's Center beginning at 11:30 am, plus a variety of rides, and a children's Butterfly Feeder craft (walk-in, so no reservation required) from 11 am to 3 pm ($3 materials fee).
Donaldson Farms Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 2 promises fun for all with live music, hayrides, face painting, and food demonstrations. The strawberry festival will take place rain or shine.
Von Thun Farms Strawberry Festival Weekend runs Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3 from 10 am-4 pm and offers free farm admission for all. Activity fees vary for events such as hay rides. pony rides, face painting, and rubber duck races.
