Do you spend your nights from Thanksgiving to Christmas cuddled up in front of the TV tuned into a Hallmark movie like I do? Sometimes, I even watch three or four in a row. Do you have the app on your phone so you’ll get alerts about new movies? Do you track which Lacey Chabert movies you’ve haven’t seen yet?
If so, there’s no doubt you look forward to the Countdown to Christmas like some people look forward to the Super Bowl (speaking of, I JUST discovered there’s a fantasy football-like game predicting which movies will be hits!). And if you can’t wait for the holidays, we have some big news.
Hallmark Movie Stars and More
Mark your calendar for the First Annual Christmas Con in Edison! The brand-new event was tailor-made for those beyond casually hooked on the slate of Hallmark holiday movies. Not only will this con feature traditional holiday fun, like a Christmas market for holiday shopping and photos with Santa, but the stars from the movies will be there, too.
Grab your ugliest ugly Christmas sweater, because Jonathan Bennett will be judging a contest on Saturday where you could win $500 and concert tickets (sold separately) to see Alicia Witt perform some holiday tunes. On Sunday, Bennett put his Cake Wars hosting skills to use at a Gingerbread Wars competition, which will be judged live by Lacey Chabert, Ryan Paevey and Nikki DeLoach.
There are panels slated for both days featuring the aforementioned familiar faces, plus other Hallmark faves like Cameron Mathison, Holly Robinson Peete, Jill Wagner, Melissa Joan Hart, Jackee Harry, Chad Michael Murray, Melissa Claire Egan, Andrew Walker, Erin Krakow, Jack Wagner, Rachel Boston and Danica McKeller.
Even if you aren’t into these movies, that’s a pretty star-packed ‘90s era lineup. Most of the stars will be on hand at various times for autograph signings and photo shoots (extra fee).
