Description
A festival featuring some flying fun with hot air balloon launches, tethered rides and drone demonstrations.
This 3-day festival, hosted by Warren County Community College, will feature hot air balloon launches in the evenings, at 6:30 pm and tethered rides, as weather permits. Tethered rides start tentatively at 4:30 pm and, for a fee, are first come first served. Full flight hot air balloon rides are also available for purchase, by reservation. The College will showcase their extensive drone program with daily drone demonstrations at the Drone Port.
In addition there will be Arts & Crafts vendors, food trucks, children’s entertainment and activities, along with musical entertainment from 3pm to 9pm. Friday’s musical entertainment includes S.C.3. Saturday, it’s the second annual Hot Rides & Hot Air Balloons Car & Truck Show. This year proceeds benefit Operation Chillout, a homeless Veterans outreach program. In addition, purchase your chances to win one of three handmade quilts, in the Raffle for the Red, White & Blue. Proceeds benefit Rolling Thunder,® Inc. NJ 3 and the Fred T. Grotenhuis Veterans Community Center project.
Friday’s musical entertainment kicks off with S.C.3. Entertainment, from 3-6pm, followed by Stevie Vicks duo, from 6-9pm. Saturday from 3-6pm DJ GoldN will be entertaining visitors during the Hot Rods & Hot Air Balloons Car and truck show. From 6-9pm enjoy the music of Leah Fuls, local award-winning singer, songwriter. Sunday get ready to dance from 3-6pm, with DJ GoldN and his Music & Movements. Back by popular demand, local favorites Jeff Bellfy Band will entertain visitors from 6-9pm.
The Warren County Community College has plenty of lawn to spread out and social distance. Pets, food and alcoholic beverages are prohibited (with the exception of snacks & beverages for small children). Feel free to bring blankets, lawn chairs, small games like quoits and corn hole. If you have never visited a hot air balloon festival before, typically balloon activity happens later in the evening, based on wind conditions and time of sunset.
